Smoky Mountain Mud

Now here's a beautiful figurative painting...Biblis by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905)- leave it to the French.  Seems he's remembered mostly as a technician, but this particular work speaks to me anyway.  I love the pose, the curves and motion.

This stirs something in me, makes me want to create something beautiful, makes me want to go into the woods and smell the fall leaves.
